Joss Stone is hitting back at her record label, by performing songs from an album the company keeps delaying.
The British singer was due to release ‘Colour Me Free’ in April, but EMI bosses have delayed the fourth album’s release indefinitely.
The 22 year old then attempted to leave the record label, but was refused to end her contract.
Now Stone has said that EMI “picked the wrong girl” to mess with, and has vowed to perform tracks from the controversial album at her gig in Rockwell, London next month.
“I’ll sing some of my new songs. They’re just new songs and I love them. They were recorded about two years ago but I have been in a war with my label,” she told the Daily Star.
“I’m just going to sing anyway and if they would like to turn out my album one day that would be nice. I’ve no idea when it will be released as it’s not up to me.”
“Maybe they’re trying to shut me up but good luck because they’ve picked the wrong girl.”
